FASS - Fast and Accurate Solubility for Sustainability

Solubility measurement is a standard test that is required for every chemical that is produced or tested. However, measuring solubility is a time/labour-intensive process that requires substantial quantities of chemicals. State-of-the-Art solubility measurements are either fast but inaccurate or slow but accurate and require excess of chemicals. Here, we exploit a new approach to fill the gap in the market offering of solubility measurement. FASS – fast and accurate solubility for sustainability combines the analytical advantages of current solubility measurements, fast and accurate, while achieving cutting edge performance in sensitivity and reliability. We will explore the mechanisms of how FASS works and how it can be use in solubility measurement and in following the dynamics of aggregation in general. Applications such as stability, purity, determining the amorphous and crystalline properties of substance will be explored.

Dr. Orly Tarun, CEO & Co-founder
Orly is the CEO and co-founder of Oryl Photonics, founded in 2021. He has a PhD in Photonics from EPFL focusing on nonlinear light scattering and imaging from which he was awarded a Thesis Distinction in Photonics. Orly is passionate in technological development and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Christian Bosshard, Managing director Swissphotonics
Dr. Christian Bosshard received his degree in Physics (1986) and his doctorate (1991, Silver medal award) from ETH. From 2001-2021 he was working at CSEM, first as Section Head and then as Vice President and Head Photonics. Since 2013 he is Managing Director of Swissphotonics. Christian is a Fellow of Optica, Board Member of EPIC, and Member of the Board of the University of Basel.
