Offset opportunities: update

It is customary that purchases of military equipment by Switzerland must be compensated by the supplier. This compensation can either be done by military equipment or, by other purchases in Switzerland. Switzerland buying the F-35 in the USA opens up opportunities for Swiss companies to sell to Lockheed (and its related companies) within this offset opportunity. This business can address nearly any need of Lockheed (also way outside military) and will get preferential treatment by Lockheed purchasing department, as it gets the benefit towards offsetting the purchase of F-35.
 
We do support with documents the bottom up approach, i.e. initiatives by Swiss companies. In addition we plan to inform Lockheed of the capability of our members so that Lockheed itself can become active in contacting Swiss companies.

Christoph Harder received the EE Diploma in 1979 (ETH, Zurich) and from Caltech (Pasadena) Master (1980) and PhD (1983) and has completed the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration TEP (2001).

Dr. Christian Bosshard received his degree in Physics (1986) and his doctorate (1991, Silver medal award) from ETH. From 2001-2021 he was working at CSEM, first as Section Head and then as Vice President and Head Photonics. Since 2013 he is Managing Director of Swissphotonics. Christian is a Fellow of Optica, Board Member of EPIC, and Member of the Board of the University of Basel.
