The Swiss Quantum Commission

Is an initiative to support research and community building within the fields of quantum technologies (computing, sensing, communication and simulation). It is mandated by the Swiss Confederation via SERI, hosted by the Swiss Academy of Sciences SCNAT and coordinated and led by the Swiss Quantum Commission (SQC) on a voluntary basis.

For the execution of the quantum calls the SQI cooperate with the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF and Innosuisse. Kirsten Moselund is one of the members of the Swiss Quantum Commission, which has representatives from the main research partners in this area. In this talk she will give an overview of the scope and goals of the Swiss Quantum Initiative, and we will have a discussion around how it may contribute to also support industry.

Dr. Christian Bosshard, Managing Director Swissphotonics
Dr. Christian Bosshard received his degree in Physics (1986) and his doctorate (1991, Silver medal award) from ETH. From 2001-2021 he was working at CSEM, first as Section Head and then as Vice President and Head Photonics. Since 2013 he is Managing Director of Swissphotonics. Christian is a Fellow of Optica, Board Member of EPIC, and Member of the Board of the University of Basel.
