EPFL Photonics Day 2023
The Photonics Day took place in the Forum Rolex Learning Center at EPFL on October 30. This yearly event is organized by the Doctoral School in Photonics of EPFL with the collaboration of the EPFL Photonics Chapter (EPC).
You may remember last year’s event which was organised with the support of the European Commission through the CARLA EU project and was a two-day event to promote careers in Photonics.
The Photonics Day gathers all PhD students involved in the Doctoral School as well as Post-docs and leading scientists to share the latest development of Photonics at EPFL and beyond. This year’s edition involved presentations from :
- Prof. Camille Brès of EPFL (also head of the Doctoral School)
- Prof. Hatice Altug of EPFL
- Prof. Anatoly Zayats, King’s College London
- The laureate of the 8% EPFL Doctoral Program in Photonics Thesis Distinction, Luca Antognini from the PV-LAB (see picture below)
- Dr. Marco Clementi from Prof. Brès’ lab, PHOSL
- Prof. Juerg Leuthold, ETHZ
- The EPC with the attribution of the Best Poster Award
- Prof. Kirsten Moselund from EPFL and PSI
- Poster presentations in 180 seconds
- Dr. Pierre-Yves Fonjallaz (on Swissphotonics)
- Dr. Timothé Laforest, from the EPFL spinoff Earlysight
- Dr. Paul Delrot, from the EPFL spin-off Readily 3D
