EPIC Technology Meeting on Photonics Integrated Circuits

The EPIC Meeting on the Future of Integrated Photonics at Ligentec will convene industry leaders and innovators to explore the next frontier in integrated photonics. This event aims to bridge the gap between photonic integrated circuit (PIC) developers and end users, fostering collaborations that will drive advancements in this cutting-edge field. Attendees will delve into the latest trends and technologies, focusing on the integration of various photonic components into a unified platform to meet the demands of emerging applications.

Key topics will include the development of high-performance photonic devices, novel materials for enhanced functionality, and scalable manufacturing processes. Discussions will cover silicon photonics as well as other materials platforms such as III-V semiconductors, lithium niobate, polymers, and more, highlighting their potential to revolutionize sectors beyond optical communications, such as sensing, and computing. Participants will also address the challenges of scaling up production, including wafer-level packaging, testing, and assembly. The meeting will feature presentations on the latest advancements, such as Ligentec’s pioneering work in silicon nitride PICs, which offer superior performance for a wide range of applications.

By bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, the EPIC Meeting at Ligentec will provide a platform for high-level networking, fostering new collaborations that will shape the future of integrated photonics, facilitate discussions on practical implementations and market-driven innovations, and ensure that integrated photonics continues to evolve in Europe.
